ROADS were closed when two suspicious bushfires were spotted 20 kilometres north of Collie on Sunday morning.
Two fixed-wing water bombers and a helicopter assisted ground crews combat the fires.
The fires were in State forest on Caversham Road, two kilometres east of Harris Dam and a kilometre north of the Bibbulmun Track.
Motorists were asked to find an alternative route to the Collie-Tallanalla road.
The out of control and unpredictable bushfire was moving slowly westwards towards Harris Dam when the alarm was raised.
The Department of Environment and Conservation said there had been no threat to lives or homes.
The cause of the fire was “suspicious”, according to the department, which has asked residents to report any suspicious behaviour to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
