COASTALS had their first win in five weeks after a good second half performance against Aztecs in the A grade competition.

Coastals welcomed the return of Roxanne Langoulant to defence, she lifted the intensity of the whole team.

Langoulant created many turnovers and put pressure on the Aztecs goalies who have been firing in recent weeks.

The first half of the game was a close affair with both teams working the ball strongly down court into their forward line.

The linking of the Boyup Brook girls Carmel Page in centre, Kelly Mader on the wing and Joanne North in goals was perfectly timed to give Aztecs easy access to goals.

Coastals were playing just as well in their forward line.

Gayle Crabbe, Blaire Bebbingt-on, Colleen DeAngelis and Sheldyn McDonald answered Aztecs goal for goal to lead by four at half time.

Coastals kept the pressure up in the second half with Rachael Dowdell intercepting and rebounding strongly to push the ball forward.

Coastals dominated the second half to outscore Aztecs by 16 goals to win 51 to 31.

Votes: Colleen DeAngelis, Roxanne Langoulant and Gayle Crabbe.

Cruisers rebounded from their shock loss last week to win comfortably against an undermanned Pumas outfit.

Pumas went into the match without Carly O’Brien, Eliza Vlasich and Kristen Burek and were no match for the talented Cruisers team.

Cruisers held only a four goal lead at quarter time but an 18-goal blitz by Kate Storen and Rebecca Stewart made the lead blow out to 12 at half time.

The continued pressure from Chelsea Slater in defence and the quick ball movement from centre Mel Lasisz had Cruisers continue their goal heist, winning 59 to 33.

Shannen King in goals worked hard for Pumas but did not get enough of the ball. Votes: Shannen King, Mel Lasisz and Chelsea Slater.

Darkan and Saints had a tight game for three quarters but Saints were unable to match it for four quarters.

Darkan started well in the first half with their centre court players Hayley Cook, Kym Harrington and Janice Brown working the ball beautifully to lead by eight at half time.

In the third quarter Saints made a mini comeback with Janine Piavanini and Tegan Latham doing a great job in defence.

Janene Slater playing in the unfamiliar role of goal attack worked well with Kate Hindle in centre to bridge the gap to four going into the last quarter.

Changes to the Darkan side in the last quarter had the talented Alysia Kepert moved onto Janene Slater and Hayley Cook to goal attack.

Darkan serged ahead to outscore Saints by 10 to win 44 to 30.

Votes: Hayley Cook, Kym Harrington and Kate Hindle.

The Rugby Club kept their record intact with another good win over Allblacks in the A2 competition.

The Rugby team played well over the entire court with all players contributing to the win.

The Rugby team started the better leading by seven at the first break to increase this to 13 at half time.

Chanel Hirama and Kristy Martin were shooting well and Caro Smith and Dezzy Hirama were defending strongly.

Allblacks worked hard after half time to match it with the Rugby team to score 12 goals each for the quarter.

Jodie Spencer and Jo Goltz were combining well in goals, Naomi Atherton was giving them plenty of drive through the centre and Hannah Rowe was strong in defence for Allblacks.

Another good quarter by the Rugby Club had them outscore Allblacks 14 to eight to win the game 46 to 27.

Votes: Chanel Hirama, Hannah Rowe and Caro Smith.

High School division one results: Top team Sparks played against second placed team Aztecs in their game on Tuesday night.

Sparks have been playing some great team netball led by centre Blaire Bebbington who continues to dominate for her team.

Sparks held only a one goal lead at quarter time but a good defensive second term from Sparks saw the lead swell to six at half time, thanks to the great efforts of Elisha Laurent and Kayla Lambley keeping the Aztec shooters under wraps. The second half was much of the same with good consistent shooting from Sparks players Savanah Spry and Kailyn Crabbe and the all over defensive effort of the team had them win 44 to 33.

Kira Bebbington and Shayna Cabrini worked hard for their team.

Votes: Blaire Bebbington, Kira Bebbington and Savanah Spry.

Celtics dominated in their game against Pumas keeping them scoreless in the first quarter.

Shannen King was on fire for Celtics shooting from any distance with great accuracy and with Stacey Beauglehole driving the ball strongly through the centre Pumas had no answers.

A brave effort from Chanita Hamiora playing with a broken toe deserved her vote for trying hard throughout the match final score 63 to 16.

Votes: Shannen King, Stacey Beauglehole and Chanita Hamiora.

There will not be any netball for the next two weeks because of school holidays.
