MEMBERS of the Collie Racing Drivers Association travelled to Bunbury Speedway on Saturday night to score seasonal points and score they did.
Craig Delfante won the feature race in the Street Stock division after having to work his way from the middle of the field to record the win.
Greg Avins and Josh Davies had excellent results finishing well.
Smarter than Smoking Junior Sedans had an interesting night as Alec Melvin rolled his car on the third lap of heat one.
Fortunately the roll was gentle and little damage was done to the car.
Melvin was able to race in the remaining heat races finishing first in heat three and then second to his brother Morgan in the feature race.
Cody Briggs rolled his car in heat one as well. His car was severely damaged in the high speed roll.
Briggs walked away from the wrecked car without injury.
Smarter than Smoking New Star juniors had a small field where Ethan Genev won the three heat races but then slipped to third place in the feature as Neil Frazer and Dani Joss took the lime light.
The main event at Bunbury was for the Production Sedans where 24 competitors entered.
Out of town club member Graham Rafferty qualified well for the feature race and finished in second place after the dramatic withdrawal of Nuno Mendes and Glen Hoskins with only two laps remaining in the feature race.
Ricky Nuccini had the night of his life qualifying in fifth place the finishing fourth in the feature.
Production sedans were on their best behaviour on the night with very few incidents and only one serious accident.
Gary Sutton withdrew his car from the racing as track conditions did not suit the Torana.
Twenty three of the entrants started in the feature race.
Racing returns to the SmokeFree Collie speedway this Saturday night with the main feature being the SmokeFree WA V8 Super Sedan Summer series.
Fourteen nominations have been received including the very popular Marc Giancola along with the veteran Bert Vosbergen, Kemble Aylett and Kevin Bell. State title holder Cody Brown is making the trip down from Broom to race at Collie.
Racing starts at 6pm gates will open at 4pm.
Track side parking is available and full canteen and bar facilities will be operating.
