THE Collie Discount Auto Parts Street Stock Championships will be the main feature of this week’s Speedway meeting at the SmokeFree Collie Speedway.

The event will be the dress rehearsal for drivers before next years state championship which will be conducted at Collie.

A larger than normal field of Street Stock Sedans is expected to nominate, with many of the states’ best to come to Collie.

Local drivers Craig Delfante, Josh Davies, Greg Avins and Jeff Genev are all expected to be front runners.

Bunbury drivers Wayne Thompson, Michael Hammon, Brian Jackson and David Padmore will make the contest a tough one.

Drivers from Perth and Albany are expected to increase the numbers to above the 20-car field.

Production Sedans, Smarter than Smoking Top Star Juniors and New Star Juniors are the support program making the night a full sedan car action night of top racing.

Collie drivers Paul Briggs and Darren Crowe raced at Margaret River Speedway on Saturday night with better than expected results.

Briggs, in his brand new BA Falcon modified production sedan, drew the attention of his fellow competitors to finish in fourth, first and second in heat races.

In the feature race starting from position four in the 18-car field, Briggs finished third.

Darren Crowe raced his AMCA National and despite a few small handling issues, he was able to sort the car out.
