JIM Moyses and Stephen Farquhar claimed their second four-ball victory of the winter golf season in last Saturday’s fixture sponsored by Greg Moyle, Chris and Ash Stewart and Dean Crowe.
The winning duo regularly pust together competitive totals. Its 46 points was enough, on this occasion, to eclipse the field of 26 pairs.
A sensational back nine score of 25 points lifted Ken Tate and Rob Ferris into the runner-up position on count back over the pairings of Rob Cavanagh and Chris Connell and Jaydon Ellery and Jim Larsen. These three teams put together a total of 45 points.
Matt Bernardi and Adam Fazey along with Greg Bell and Ryan Dye were next on 44 points.
Rounding out the mentions on 43 points were Jan Van Vollenstee and Peter Gray, Leon Moran and Dave Brunswick and finally Graham Williams and Dean Rakich.
The sponsors awarded novelties on all holes, maintaining the field’s interest. Ray Alp proved his prowess with the putter, collecting a hat trick of longest putts.

The ever-consistent Frank Battista was again in the top scores with 21 points. David Broadbent, Denis Cocker, Ed Riley, Alan Banks and Jim Moyses also gained a reward for their 20 points apiece.
Greg Bell had the best gross with 39 off the stick.
Rhonda McGill had a good round to tally 22 points for a narrow win over June Pike with 21 points.
The ‘Shankas’ group from The Cut Golf Club, near Mandurah, made the trip south to play, swelling the numbers to 71 players.
Resplendent in their bright pinkie, orange shirts, their party included former Fremantle Docker, Daniel Bandy, who picked up a novelty along with Stephen Farquhar and Alan Banks.
