JONTY Hollins won three first place medals at Wagin on Saturday afternoon at a twilight meet.

The Collie Swimming Club went to the meet which started at 4pm.

Medals were awarded for the first place swimmer and ribbons for the next five places.

Other Collie swimmers got place ribbons and personal best times.

The afternoon started with the mixed freestyle relays. Jameson Moloney, Tahlia Norris, Emma Bentley and Rebecca Woodman competed in the under-11 relay.

Collie had two teams compete in the under-15s relay with “A team” made up of Breanna King, Rebecca Woodman, Sheridan King and Jonty Hollins finishing in third place.

They were just ahead of fourth place Collie “B team” Jacinta Byrne, Georgia Moloney, Tiffany Latham and Josh Woodman.

In the open relay, Jonty Hollins brought his team, consisting of Josh Woodman, Daniel and Breanna King home for second place.

Emma Bentley swam in the girls nine and under 50m events and got fourth place for 50m butterfly swim.

She finished seventh in freestyle (PB), and third in her breaststroke (PB) heat.

Competing in the girls 11 and under 50m events were Tahlia Norris and Rebecca Woodman. Norris swam nearly three seconds faster in breaststroke, than her Harvey swim and competed the butterfly event for the first time.

Woodman won a fourth place ribbon in her butterfly (PB) race and fifth in freestyle.

Jameson Moloney swam in the boys 11 and under 50m events and won a sixth place ribbon in his breaststroke race, swam a 3.73 second personal best for freestyle, placed seventh for his butterfly race and 12th backstroke.

Tiffany Latham, Georgia Moloney and Sheridan King competed in the girls 13 and under 50m events. Latham swam under 40 sec for the first time and finished 13th overall in her freestyle (PB), finished third in her heat of the breaststroke (PB), and 11th overall in her butterfly.

Moloney swam a personal best in freestyle, finished fifth in the breaststroke heat, and swam her first butterfly race.

King won a butterfly heat and finished in seventh place.

She also placed seventh in her freestyle event (PB), and eighth in breaststroke and 10th in backstroke (PB).

In the girls 15 and under 50m events, Breanna King and Jacinta Byrne took home ribbons in all events.

King placed second in breaststroke, third in freestyle and butterfly and fourth in backstroke.

Byrne swam all personal best times and got a fourth place ribbon in breaststroke and got sixth in freestyle and butterfly.

Jonty Hollins and Josh Woodman competed in the boys 15 and under 50m events.

Hollins swam all personal best times and won first place medals for breaststroke, freestyle, and butterfly (6.88sec PB) and placed second in backstroke.

Woodman earned third place ribbons for all breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly and backstroke events.

Daniel King competed in the open boys events and got a third place ribbon for butterfly, fourth in backstroke (PB) and fifth place ribbons for breaststroke and freestyle (PB).

The Collie team will compete in Northam this weekend for the Country Pennants Championships.
