Motocross
STORMY weather did not deter the determination of Collie Motocross riders at last Saturdays Trail and Enduro held at Jackson’s Farm.
Newcomer to this event, Ben Larking, on a Honda 150F proved hard to beat in all events.
Taking home first place for the Collie Motocross Club, pure skill was what was needed on this treacherous track and true to form Larking did not faulter all day.
Max Vlasich also placed second in this event on an 85cc bike.
Vlasich races both motocross and trail/enduro events.
These boys were neck to neck on all corners and it was fantastic for the Collie boys to take podium place at the end of the day.
Wet, stormy weather proved too tough for Brock Christinger.
Out in fine form in race one the track soon took control.
Christinger finished in the top three in the last trail and enduro and no doubt he will be back again in the up and coming event.
Other Collie riders Nick Smith and Jake Hill also attempted to finish all three events, but as the rain and hail took over they too had to pull out of the event due to unforseen weather.
In the senior event, Collie rider Jeremy Melbourne rode fast and furiously in bad conditions.
Unfortunately a huge get off faired badly for Melbourne and he was taken from the track with a badly smashed finger.
Melbourne will need to be well rested for his next event in a few weeks and it will be great to see him back in top form yet again.
