FIVE talented students from Eclipse Martial Arts Academy are flying out this weekend to compete in the 2008 National Taekwondo championships in Sydney from September 4-6.

Tiger and Sarah Turner, Jaymee-Lee Smith, Jesse Ramshaw and Bailey Moloney have been invited to the tournament which is being held at Homebush, the same venue the 2000 Sydney Olympics were held.

Tiger Turner, Jesse Ramshaw and Jaymee-Lee Smith will be competing at their first Nationals, while Bailey Moloney and Sarah Turner will compete for the second time.

To qualify for the national championships, competitors had to finish first, second or third at the State championships held in June.

All five will take part in the sparring section of the championships with Moloney also competing in the Poomsae (Technical) section of the tournament.

Head Instructor Brad Emmett has put his them through solid training over the last few months and is confident the training will produce excellent results in Sydney.

Each competitor recently won events during the recent South West Taekwondo Academy Invitatational Tournament in Bunbury and are hoping to be successful in Sydney.
