Netball
COLLIE netball will start its A and B-grade and high school division one competitions on Tuesday, May 4.
The season will begin with a new modified 20/20 netball game.
Games will consist of four six minute quarters and each team will play two games each night.
The competition will run for the first three weeks of the season and the top team will win.
Rules have been modified.
After a goal is scored the other team will receive the next centre-pass. A goal scored inside the goal circle will receive one point but a goal scored outside the circle will receive two points.
Goals can only be taken by the goal attack or shooter.
The last two minutes of each quarter will be a “power play” where double points are scored for each goal inside or outside the circle.
The World Cup netball was played in this format last year and with only a few modifications it will bring a new look to Collie netball.
Nominations are now been taken for all grades.
Nominations will be taken for teams or as individuals for the 20/20 netball which will lead into the normal netball fixtures from May 25.

Division two is modified rules on lowered rings for year three, four and five players. It will be played at 4pm each week.
