COLLIE really is a SuperTown, its services and opportunities go further than many people think.
For 20 years I worked, laughed and cried with some super Collie people.
During that time I met some terrific women, among them a shire president, local doctor, member of parliament, sporting and hobby enthusiasts and great work colleagues in the mining industry (the men were pretty good too).
Recently I got to know another Collie woman of great promise in Jaimee Motion, who is a candidate in my electorate of Collie-Preston.
Being located at the "bottom of the hill", Burekup is often overlooked in the Collie-Preston electorate. It benefits greatly from jobs in and around Collie, medical services, retail and banking.
Most of all we benefit from the long-term supply of power to the South West for domestic and industrial purposes.
I will be supporting Ms Motion on election day because serious competition is good for everyone and a younger generation can bring a fresh new approach to the everyday issues which affect us all.
