BOREDOM led to a 22 year old man breaking into a house and stealing property.
Shannon Daniel Weston pleaded guilty to burglary when he appeared in Collie Magistrate's Court last week.
Weston forced his way through the kitchen window of a Lawley Street house and stole a Playstation 3 console and games, a backpack and an axe.
Weston told the court he committed the burglary because he was bored.
"There's nothing to do in Collie," Weston said.
Prosecutor Sgt Barry Phelps said Weston committed the crime some time between 10am to 9.10pm on October 30.
Forensic evidence of fingerprints helped police identify Weston as the offender.
Weston was ordered to perform 80 hours community service and pay $1200 in compensation.
