Road sealing pledge from Labor

A STATE Labor government would seal the road between Collie and the Ferguson Valley.

This was said this week by Collie-Preston MLA Mick Murray, who said the sealing of the last 3.5 kilometres of the South Mungalup Road would make the trip to the Ferguson Valley a lot easier.

"The Ferguson Valley already has a great reputation and the sealing of the road will connect the area with the beautiful surroundings of the Wellington National Park," Mr Murray said. "It's my view that the Ferguson Valley has the potential to become the Swan Valley of the South West."

Mr Murray said the 3.5km section of unsealed road was a deterrent to tourists.

"The area to the south of Wellington Dam is one of the best kept secrets in the South West and the sealing of this road will make sure it can be sustainably utilised and generate jobs and new business opportunities."
