A GROUP of 50 eager helpers weeded, raked and collected 140 bags of rubbish during Saturday's cemetery clean-up.
The annual clean-up was run by the Collie Rotary Club, with the Collie Scout Group, Community Garden Group and the Collie Historical Society also represented.
Rotary community director Donna Davies said the clean cemetery would have a positive effect on Collie.
"Because it's at the entrance of town, people gain an input of how we feel about the community by the cemetery.
"It's a great community and we need to get that message out," Ms Davies said.
The clean-up was organised as part of the annual Clean Up Australia Day, which is this Sunday.
"We will do something similar in a couple of months," Ms Davies said.
