PHOTOGRAPHER Caroline Telfer has won Best Digital/Professional entry in the 2013 Banners in the Terrace, for the Shire of West Arthur.
Each year the WA Local Government Association, supported by the City of Perth, holds a Banners in the Terrace competition.
Entries are displayed on St George's and Adelaide terraces to coincide with the WA Local Government Convention.
The competition has categories for schools, community groups and professional artists.
In all, 81 communities entered this year's competition.
Ms Telfer designed the West Arthur banner, featuring a design representing West Arthur From Forest to Wheat belt.
The shire will put the banner on display when it gets it back.
Works update
DUE to the wet weather, the crew has been diverted to road verge vegetation management and to guidepost maintenance.
Vegetation management has been completed on the bitumen section of Cordering North Road, part of Gibbs Road and Hillman Road.
Clearing of the Darkan to Dardadine Rail Trail is nearly complete, with progress hampered by the weather.
A number of rotten timber culverts have collapsed along this section of the trail. People using the trail should take extreme caution until the culverts have been replaced and works completed.
