Six riding members represented Collie Horse and Pony club in dressage, show jumping and cross country at the Narrogin ODE this weekend along with one Wellington/Donnybrook member and three adult riders also from Collie.
Hard training and persistence paid off with Clare McLean from Collie Pony Club winning the E grade over 12 division at her very first ODE on Striking Viking.
McLean received a rosette and a specially embroidered rug for Viking.
Hayley Davidson also achieved an outstanding result placing third in the same division on Sally on their first ode together.
Haley Davidson received a rosette and a new feed bucket for her efforts.
Jessica Davidson and Tegan Sevier rode like champions with Jessica Davidson finishing in seventh on Jube and Tegan Sevier finishing 10th on Pete, both in D grade.
Nicole Sevier and Keegan Rinder rode exceptionally well and were delighted with their dressage and show jumping efforts, but were unfortunately eliminated in the cross country leg.
Open rider and club plaiting expert Kate Towler was pleased after completing all rounds successfully on Ellie.
Fellow Open riders Anna Muffert and Tiffany Fowler also competed.
Congratulations to local vet Muffert who placed fourth on Mario in the B grade open division, receiving a rosette and Fowler on a successful weekend.
Congratulations also to Teah Hill from Wellington/Donnybrook who placed fourth in the B grade over 12 division, receiving a rosette on Jimmy Superfly.
The Collie Pony Club thanked the band of helpers who travelled to help its members and its coaches who volunteered their time unconditionally.
The sportsmanship and camaraderie be tween the members is a pleasure to watch and they represented Collie with pride.
The club looks forward to continuing its success.
