A 26-YEAR-OLD woman, who allegedly withdrew $25,000 from a bank account while knowing that it was not her money, has been charged.
Kristy Wright has been charged with 28 counts of stealing.
In the Collie Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, June 20, Magistrate Calvin Fisher heard that an administrative banking error caused the extra $25,000 to be placed in Wright’s bank account.
Wright is alleged to have withdrawn the money in instalments.
The case has been adjourned to July 18 because police prosecutors said they were unsure whether the case was a civil or criminal matter.
They would continue to seek legal advice, the court was told.
