COLLIE residents are being urged to support a grieving family following the death of a man in his 70s on Thursday morning.
Police and Emergency Services were called to a traffic crash about 9:20am after a Mitsubishi Outlander travelling north on the South Western Highway in Waroona hit a tree.
The driver, believed to be in her 60s, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries by the RAC Rescue helicopter.
A man believed to be in his 70s who was a passenger in the vehicle died as a result of the injuries.
Senior Sergeant Mike Dean said the pair have family in Collie and is urging people to get behind the family.
