A Collie man who drove his car in to a garden, through a fence and crashed in to a parked car will face court next week.
The 48 year old man was allegedly unlicensed and has been charged with drink driving with a blood alcohol level in excess of 0.08 per cent.
Officers from the Collie Police Station were on patrol at 10.45pm when they noticed a white Mitsubishi Triton travelling in the opposite direction on Prinsep Street.
The officers turned around with the intent to stop the vehicle to conduct a random breath test on the driver.
As they travelled over a crest in the road, the officers observed the Mitsubishi travelling around a right-hand bend in the road ahead of them and as they exited the bend they saw the Mitsubishi on its side in the driveway of a home.
It appears the vehicle had crossed through the garden of one house, driven through a fence and landed on its side. It had also struck a parked car, which then hit the wall of the house.
The driver was trapped, and the police officers were forced to remove the windscreen of the vehicle to allow the driver to climb out.
Due to potential structural damage, State Emergency Service volunteers were called to the residence to put structural supports in place.
The driver was taken to Collie Hospital by ambulance and was later subjected to a breath test. He is due to appear in the Collie Magistrates Court on July 9.
