Two men were robbed at knife-point while parked at a red light in Rivervale on Tuesday.
The pair were in a white Toyota Camry stopped at a red light at the intersection of Francisco Street and Orrong Road about 9pm, when two men approached the car.
One of the men opened the front passenger door of the car and threatened the passenger with a knife, demanding his money and phone, before grabbing a backpack from the car and fleeing, police spokeswoman Susan Usher said.
The two men were last seen running north east along Francisco Street.
One of the men was described as being in his mid to late 20s, 165 centimetres tall with fair skin, wearing a light blue sweatshirt, blue jeans and a flat-peaked baseball cap.
The other is in his early 30s with fair skin, a muscular build and a short brown beard, wearing an orange Gap sweatshirt and a hip-hop style baseball cap with a flat peak.
