COLLIE Police have warned of a prowler on the loose.
On Thursday night around 9.30 pm a 70 year-old man living in Deakin Street woke up to find a burglar going through his bedside drawers.
Following the break in it was discovered that the burglar had stolen medication.
It is uncertain how the burglar obtained entry but Senior Sergeant Mike Dean said that people were continuing to leave windows open and doors unlocked.
"We suspect many offences are going unreported," Sgt. Dean said.
"We have deployed extra police in the northern area of Collie where we suspect this prowler is operating.
"We ask the public to please immediately inform police if they notice anything strange and at the same time to take caution."
