Women's hockey
ASSOCIATION finals are taking shape with Amaroo in the A Grade and Rovers in the A reserve and intermediates booking places in the grand finals.
Their opponents will be decided on the weekend for the A Grade and A reserve, the intermediate team to join Rovers would have already been decided when this goes to print with the preliminary final played on last Tuesday.
The mini hockey windup and presentations were last week. In all 21 players participated in Tuesday sessions co-ordinated by junior state player Lucy Barrett.
The players had g a game against their parents before being presented with medals and certificates.
The C Grade competition concluded last weekend, with all players being presented certificates and medals. Sapphires this year won the trophy for finishing on top of the table.
Congratulations to C Grade fairest and best Alyssa Davidson and runner-up Grace Sheppard.
Highest goalscorer was Alyssa Davidson with 15. MVP awards went to Josie Thompson Onyx, Justise Woods Rubies, Melanie Craker Opals, Alyssa Davidson Diamonds and Grace Sheppard Sapphires.
Congratulations to former CWHA player Preah Hetherington who has been selected in the WA Diamonds AHL team. This year's Women's AHL takes place in Brisbane from October 4-11.
The association is calling for nominations for the 2015 Touring Girls.
Players who are in years 9-10 are eligible to nominate. The team must have a goalie, coach and managers to go away.
Nomination forms will be available at intermediate games, a $100 nomination fee must accompany the nomination.
The forms have to be returned to Shay Dewar or Jo Crowe by Tuesday.
The association wants nominations for coach and managers of the team. Send nominations to Shay Dewar, 76 Swanstone Street, by Tuesday. The team is expected to tour during the next year's October school holidays.

Marist 2 beat Collie 1 (L Barrett). Best Collie P Old, N Michalak, L Barrett. Collie finished one place out of the finals in fifth place the girls had a successful year, playing excellent hockey and although disappointed about just missing the finals will be looking forward to having a crack at the finals next year.
A-grade
