A man has been charged after police found weapons and drugs in his car, in East Victoria Park on Saturday night.
The 29-year-old tried to run away when police pulled over his black Holden Commodore on Etwell Street at 8pm, Acting Sergeant Barbara Crane said.
"Whilst the vehicle was being searched, the man ran from officers in an attempt to escape, he was pursued on foot a short distance and apprehended," Acting Sergeant Crane said.
During the search it is alleged that a loaded handgun, numerous rounds of ammunition and a substance believed to be Methamphetamine were found alongside other drug-related items.
The man is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on Monday.
