Flame-grilled burgers took on a literal meaning in Ellenbrook on Tuesday night when the roof space of Hungry Jacks caught on fire.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services received a call about 7pm, after an extractor fan caught fire in the fast-food restaurant on the corner of Gnangara Road and Henley Brook Avenue.
The fire spread through the roof-space, causing $100,000 in damage, before firefighters from Ellenbrook, Wangara and Malaga could bring it under control.
The fire was extinguished by 7.30pm and is believed to have been started by an electrical fault
