LOCAL Collie gymnast Kayla Atkin has proved her versatility in the sport.
She recently came third in the state championships and has her sights set on gold for next year.
"I got first on the floor, second on vault, fourth on the beam and I didn't place on bars," Kayla said.
She thinks her strongest event is vault.
"It is my favourite because I win all the time on it," Kayla said.
On vault the gymnast runs and jumps onto a springboard and flies over a vaulting table.
She thinks that the events vary in difficulty and some are harder than others.
"There's some where you have to just land on your back and some were you have to land on your feet.
"One day she hopes to meet professional gymnast and Perth local Lauren Mitchell.
