South-coast and inland residents are being urged to "batten down the hatches" as severe storms continue to pound the southern half of Western Australia.
Large hail and heavy rain - with the possibility of flash flooding - are expected to hit an area from south of Kellerberrin to Leonora to Laverton to Balgair, as storms rage throughout Friday.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has issued a severe weather warning for an area from Bremer Bay to Kellerberrin to Leinster to Wiluna to Balgair to Eyre and west along the coast to Bremer Bay, including Southern Cross, Kalgoorlie, Esperance and surrounding areas.
An earlier warning for people in parts of WA bounded by Albany to Kellerberrin to Bremer Bay to Albany has been cancelled.
The continued bad weather comes after Perth copped more than half a month of rain in the space of 24 hours and two members of a ground crew were hospitalised after a lightning strike at Perth Airport.
 
DFES warned against travel in areas expected to be hit, and urged residents to secure their homes and valuables.
The department warned campers to find shelter away from trees, powerlines, storm water drains and streams, and for local residents to move vehicles and boats under cover, secure outdoor objects, bring pets inside, and unplug electrical appliances while avoiding the use of landline telephone if there was lightning.
"If you are away from home contact family or friends to prepare your property," DFES said.
Storms would continue throughout Friday into the evening, with the risk of severe thunderstorms easing over western parts of the area in the afternoon.
