Japan on edge as fate of Islamic State-held hostages uncertain

Beijing: The fate of two Japanese hostages held by Islamic State militants remained in limbo on Saturday, after a deadline for Japan's government to pay a $US200 million ransom lapsed with no reports of progress in efforts to release the pair.
