POLICE have charged a 47-year-old man in relation to a fatal crash involving two motorcycles last November.
The man has been charged with Dangerous Driving Occasioning Death and is due to appear in the Collie Magistrates Court on Wednesday, February 18.
The two riders were travelling east on Coalfields Road near the intersection of Marsh Street, Collie at approximately 8.15pm when the accident occurred.
A sudden stop forced one rider to hit the other from behind, causing both men to dismount their vehicles.
A 55-year-old man riding a Harley Davidson was flown to Royal Perth hospital with severe head injuries and lacerations.
He passed away a few weeks later.
The other 47-year-old man, who was riding a Triumph Rocket, was taken to Bunbury Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Senior Sergeant Mike Dean from Collie Police praised local residents and medical services who were quick to aid the riders.
Major Crash investigators would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash or either of the motor cycles prior to the crash.
