Firefighters are tackling a blaze that has become out of contol near John Forrest National Park in Parkerville.
The fire burning west of Hidden Valley Drive in the Shire of Mundaring is moving slowly in a north easterly direction and has been listed as a possible threat to lives and homes.
The fire comes just after the year anniversary of fires which tore through the area leaving a number of people homesless.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has warned that burning embers are likely to be blown around properties in the area and could pose further risks.
DFES has urged people to prepare to leave now or make final preperations to actively defend their homes.
People in the area are being told to close all doors and windows, turn off evaporative air conditionsers but keep water running through the system if possible.
Avoid the area and be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel working on site as a number of roads have been closed including Hidden Valley Drive and Highlands Drive.
