AFTER five long weeks lost in the bush near Allanson, Millie the cat has been reunited with her owners.
The ragdoll cat escaped from her owner's car while they were having lunch at Black Diamond.
Corrigin resident Janece Rogers was taking her husband to a doctor's appointment in Bunbury when the couple decided to stop at Black Diamond.
"We take Millie and our dog Jeffery with us everywhere; they travel in the car with us wherever we go," Mrs Rogers said.
Millie became frightened by nearby revving engines and ran into the nearby bushland.
This was not the first time Millie had been missing for an extended period of time - she had previously survived six months lost in Queensland bushland.
Four-year-old Millie went missing from Ms Rogers's caravan in Longreach, Queensland while she and her husband were travelling around Australia.
Ms Rogers and her husband returned to WA without Millie, holding out hope but slowly residing to the fact that she was gone.
Until six months later when Ms Rogers received a phone call from a lady in Queensland saying they had found Millie and a microchip scan confirmed the cat was in fact Millie.
Ms Rogers said Millie must have been living in some pretty tough conditions.
"She must have been battling cane toads and snakes out there, and as for food we have seen her catch rabbits before."
Mrs Rogers contacted the Collie Mail in the hope locals in Allanson and Collie who may have seen her.
On Monday a local Allanson resident contacted the Collie Mail to say that she had seen the cat on her property several times in the past week.
"The cat had been hanging around the horse-shed catching the mice and my neighbour had been leaving scraps out for it," the lady said.
"At first I thought it might have been a lamb that had escaped because of its coat, I thought it must have been a stray until I saw the story on the Collie Mail website."
The Collie Mail contacted the delighted owner who travelled down from Corrigin immediately to collect the much missed cat.
Mrs Rogers thanked the locals who had kept an eye out for Millie.
"The community has been so helpful down there; they have continued to search for Millie, and post on social media sites about her."
"This is so good to have her back."
Ms Rogers and her family are not the only ones who desperately missed Millie.
Her dog Jeffrey, an Australian terrier, and Millie's best friend was visibly upset since Millie's disappearance.
Jeffery was more than excited to be reunited with Millie and there was much sniffing to catch up on.
