A police dog tracked down a man after an elderly woman reported a break-in at her Kardinya home on early Tuesday morning
The woman who is in her 90s called police after she claimed a man broke into her house around 1am and stole personal belongings before running away.
Police officers and police dog "Rumble" heard noises from the yard of a home in Park Lane. The burglar tried to evade capture by jumping from one house roof to another.
Rumble eventually tracked him down near a fence in a backyard.
A 38-year-old Hilton man has been charged and is due to appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court on May 5.
