WESTERN Australia's Youth Girls team came up against Vic Metro in their opening game of the 2015 AFL Youth Girls National Championships at Bendigo Bank Stadium on Monday.
WA led by 19 points early in the second quarter but kicked just one goal in the second half to lose 7.6 (48) to 6.2 (38).
Peel Thunderbirds player Demi Okely was judged best on ground in the losing team.
Thunderbirds teammates Jessica Fenton, Ebony Hardie, Courtney Fabry, Sabreena Duffy and Courtney Hodder and Kerrilee Brown (for a second consecutive year) were the other Thunderbirds squad members.
