TWO local teenagers will travel to Sydney in July to participate in the Magic Moments Youth Leadership Summit.
Aleta Graham, 17 and Brianna Harrison-Brown, 16, will attend the week long summit which focuses on leadership and business.
Both girls were offered the opportunity by Collie and Districts Community Bank after winning the positions which are offered via an interview process.
The summit, which is held from July 4 to July 8, involves youth aged 14 to 17 from across Australia, and is designed to improve confidence and leadership.
Included in the girls’ prize are return flights, all meals, accommodation, and event materials, a pre-event webinar, a six-week post event program, and an 11 month follow-up program.
Winner, Brianna Harrison- Brown said she was very excited about the opportunity when she found out she was chosen to attend the summit.
“It will be a really good opportunity to meet like-minded people and to gain confidence.”
“I hope to be able to help out the community and be a spokesperson for the youth,” Ms Harrison-Brown said.
The Collie Community Bank offers the opportunity for two locals to attend the Magic Moments summit each year.
Magic Moments committee chairman and Collie Community Bank deputy chairman Jeff Riley said summit attendees would learn valuable life tools from the variety of interactive sessions.
“There will be lots of fantastic speakers who will share some incredible le insights into their own knowledge and beliefs,” Mr Riley said.
“In past years, winners have thoroughly enjoyed the five-day learning experience and they have highly recommended it to others.
“This year, the summit will be fortunate enough to welcome back the 2014 winners after they found the summit so interesting and beneficial. This year they will pay their own way to participate in the summit, and we hope our 2015 winners Brianna and Aleta find the summit just as interesting.”
Mr Riley said he was pleased the Collie and Districts Community Bank could assist two local teenagers in gaining lifelong skills to help our community in the future.
