A man and three teenage boys have been charged after allegedly bashing a man 26-year-old man with a hammer in a Karratha car park on Sunday.
Police allege the man was also struck with pieces of bitumen in the car park of the Tambrey Tavern.
The 26-year-old injured man, from the Karratha suburb of Nickol, was flown to Hedland Health Campus by the Royal Flying Doctor Service and is currently in a serious but stable condition with head injuries.
Police want bystanders and motorists who witnessed the attack to call West Pilbara Detectives on 91437200 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
A 28-year-old Nickol man and two 16-year-old boys have been charged with acts or omissions causing bodily harm and danger.
The 17-year-old boy has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
The 28-year-old man and two of the juveniles are due to face the Karratha Court on May 25. The other juvenile will appear in court later this month.
