Police have charged a man with murder after a body was discovered in a South Perth unit on Wednesday.
Major Crime Squad detectives charged the 28-year-old man overnight.
He was refused bail and will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.
Officers were called to the Parker Street unit about 12.30pm after reports a body was discovered.
Seven News reporter Grant Wynne told Radio 6PR the unit was about 20 floors high, overlooking the Swan River.
"Police have descended on Parker Street in numbers - I'm watching some forensic officers now just starting to suit up in their jumpsuits as they go into this apartment building," he said on Wednesday.
"[Residents] in some of the neighbouring apartments who have been walked out by police haven't had much information given to them either.
"One of the neighbours I spoke to said there was a youngish guy, perhaps 20 years old or in his 20s, talking to police when they first arrived."
