THE Collie Cycle club have new uniforms to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Collie- Donnybrook and Return Cycling Classic.
Incorporated in the design is a wave like line which represents the ride from the top of the hills in Collie and down to the flat of Donnybrook and back, and is in the colours of the Collie Cycle Club, blue and white.
On the front of the top, it displays the silhouette of a rider and was taken from a picture of one of the previous race winners, but the model remains a mystery with only the designer knowing who that person is.
The new tops also have the names of every winner and their winning race time printed on the back.
The Collie- Donnybrook and Return Cycling Classic race will take place on August 15 this year, and anyone who holds an ACF licence is eligible to enter.
Running the event is the Collie Cycle Club, and club member Mark Paget said the dedicated committee hope to keep the race going for many years to come.
"It's a small committee that has kept it running all these years and we hope to keep it running until its hundredth year and beyond," he said.
The tops are available for purchase through the cycle club and there are also polo tops in the same design available.
The club hopes to organise community involvement in the milestone event, including activities with school children teaching them bicycle safely as well as cycling for health.
