The Rotary Club of Collie annual changeover dinner was held at Collie Golf Club last Thursday, June 25.
Rotarians, their partners, and guests enjoyed dinner and drinks along with addresses from former president Bob Greig and incoming president Neil Martin.
Neil Martin was made President of the club, taking over from Bob Greig who served for the year.
Glynn Yates who was representing the Collie Shire Council, thanked the Club from the community of Collie for their various projects during the year, and general input in the community.
John Vlasich was awarded his third Paul Harris Fellow, (a Double Sapphire) which the first time the Club has awarded an individual Rotarian at this level.
Steve Smith was awarded the Kaleidoscope Award, for his outstanding contribution as Secretary of the Club.
Rodney Cross was awarded the Collie Rotary Citizen of the Year for his work with the Riding for the Disabled programme.
Robyn Yates was presented with Certificate of Appreciation for her work as an Assistant Governor, and support for the Club throughout the year.
John Bylund was presented with Certificate of Appreciation for his contribution to the Youth portfolio.
The committee for the year was confirmed as; Terry Hunter as President Elect, Robyn Yates for Membership, John Bylund for Youth, John Vlasich International, Graeme Pilatti Vocational, Steve Smith as secretary.
A special acknowledgement was given to former Rotarian for over 40 years, Past President and Paul Harris Fellow, Val Jones, who contributed enormously to the club throughout the years.
