THE Collie River Marketing Group is welcoming newcomers to attend their next annual general meeting, and to get involved in the group which promotes the Collie River Valley area.
Collie River Valley Marketing Group vice President Ian Bushell said the group are very much focused on promoting Collie as a tourist destination, and are seeking new members to help bring ideas and energy to the group.
“With completion of the Skate Park, art gallery, and mountain bike trails, Collie is starting to present a different overview of the town to visitors, tourists and adventure seekers.”
“The Collie River Valley Marketing Group is becoming involved in some very exciting promotions that will lift the way Collie is seen by others to a new dynamic level,” he said.
The group are seeking members from all walks of life; the only requirement is that new members have a basic interest in promoting the Collie region.
“If you have an active vivid imagination, business interests, or just a desire to see Collie marketed and prosper, then please come to the Collie River Valley Marketing Group Annual General Meeting, you will be most welcomed and become a part of the future marketing of Collie,” Mr Bushell said.
Collie River Valley Marketing Group President ROSANNE Pimm said anyone is welcome to get involved with the group.
“We would love to have new members in the group to help build on the ideas of the group and promote Collie as a place to live, visit and invest.”
“The more people who get involved, the more ideas we will have, and we can share the load a bit more.”
“We have ideas but quite often we don’t have the time or people who will follow through with them,” she said.
One recent project that the group was involved with was working to get the Harris River Dam area back up to a standard that would be inviting for tourists to visit; this included a new sign in the area, and a general clean-up.
The group’s website collierivervalley.com.au showcases the area and lists local business, events, and areas of interest.
The Annual General meeting is on Thursday, July 30 at 9am at the Shire of Collie offices and anyone is welcome to attend.
