South West detectives are travelling to the Bunbury Sea Rescue base on Casuarina Drive after a woman's body was recovered from the ocean today.
Police officers and the Bunbury Sea Rescue crew recovered the body from the water about 1.30pm today, Thursday August 27.
The woman, believed to be in her mid-40s, has not been identified..
Police were notified by Busselton Sea Rescue that a deceased person had been sighted about one-and-a-half nautical miles off the Bunbury coast.
Bunbury Sea Rescue Commander Albert Fullarton said the body was first discovered by a fisherman.
Detectives have headed to the scene to determine whether there is any criminality involved in the woman's death.
