ALL creatures great and small went along to St Mary’s Anglican Church to be blessed in a very special service.
On October 4 from 10am the community was invited to bring along their animals to be blessed inside the church.
All were welcome, from dogs, cats, turtles, goldfish and farm animals to everything in between.
“This service recognises the important role that animals, especially our pets, play in our lives, in terms of companionship and love,” Reverend Dr. Sarah MacPherson said.
The service was held to coincide with the Feast Day for St Francis of Assisi who was known for his love for animals.
“They seem to sense what is going on, and the service is a blessing for animals and humans alike,” she said.
