Newcastle Herald photographer Simone De Peak has been selected a finalist in the prestigious 2015 Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize for her image "The Ominous Drive" featuring a car doing towards a bushfire.
Former Newcastle Herald photographer Natalie Grono is also among the 30 finalists.
Established in 2007, the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize (MCPP) is a national competition that awards and promotes Australian contemporary photography and excellence in all forms of still based artwork.
