THE Collie Underwater Hockey Club has started back at training and are making the most of the brand new swimming pool facility.
The club, who train on a Monday and Wednesday night, said they are thrilled to have the pool back in use in time to train for the upcoming nationals to be held in Bunbury in January.
Collie Underwater Hockey Club life member Chad Mitchell said the finishes on the pool have helped make training at the facility a lot more enjoyable.
“The bottom is very slick and fast so it helps the speed of the game,” he said.
“The improvements to the pool are excellent for the club.”
“The lighting has helped with our night training sessions and the pool is slightly deeper, which is a big thing for the game.”
“The side tiles in the pool were all replaced so there are no more scratches or cuts from the rough sides; it’s definitely a lot safer now.”
Mr Mitchell said he encouraged people to come down and try the game out.
“Come and give it a go, it’s a good way to stay fit and a great club environment,” he said.
“We have a great bunch of young juniors who are really enjoying using the pool.”
“It’s a fantastic modern facility for an outdoor pool, I’ve been in pools around the world competing and this is definitely a world-class facility.”
