ANTHONY Morabito’s AFL career will continue with the Fremantle Dockers keeping their promise of re-drafting the injury-prone midfielder in Friday’s Rookie Draft.
Morabito was selected with Fremantle’s third round pick (50) and will now have a chance to get back to his best form which saw him play 23 games and receive an AFL Rising Star nomination in his first season.
However since that time Morabito has added just three more games, all in 2014, after three knee reconstruction and various complications.
Another Peel Thunder product Farren Ray also received a lifeline in the Rookie Draft after being delisted by St Kilda at the end of the season.
St Kilda had recommitted to re-drafting Ray but North Melbourne got in first snapping up the 29-year-old with pick 15.
It will be Ray’s third club since being drafted from Peel Thunder by the Western Bulldogs with pick four in 2003.
