Talk about the spirit of Christmas giving.
Australian actress Isla Fisher and her British comedian husband, Sacha Baron Cohen have donated an incredible $1.3 million to charity.
The couple gave more than $680,000 to The Sunday Times Christmas appeal to help protect 250,000 children against a threatened measles outbreak in Syria, the paper reported.
"Donations will pay for emergency aid, shelter and education for Syrian refugee children and their families in Jordan, Iraq, Turkey and Lebanon. Displaced families living within Syria's borders will also be helped," The Sunday Times explained.
It wasn't the only donation by Fisher, 39, and Cohen, 44, who have three children, six-month-old Montgomery Moses Brian, Olive, 7 and Elula, four.
The couple also gave the same amount to American charity, The International Rescue Committee (IRC) which "responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives".
Other celebrities have given generous donations in recent months.
Earlier in the month actor Edward Norton donated $550,000 for Syrian refugees.
He was inspired after reading about a Syrian refugee who had lost his wife and daughter in a bombing and was now battling stomach cancer.
As well as donating the sum, Norton started a fundraiser for the man, writing: "This man has suffered profound loss that would crush the spirit of many people and yet he still passionately wants a chance to contribute positively to the world. If we don't welcome people like this into our communities and empower his dream of making an impact with his life, then we're not the country we tell ourselves we are.
"Let's reject the 'anti-human' voices that tell us to fear refugees and show this man and his family what Americans are really made of. Let's show that a country built by the energy and dreams of immigrants still believes in brave people who come here with hope for better life."
Angelina Jolie Pitt has been a long-term supporter of Syria, regularly donating money. Earlier this year, Jolie Pitt, who is a special envoy of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, penned an op-ed for The Times, writing:
"At no time in recent history has there been a greater need for leadership to deal with the consequences and causes of the global refugee crisis.
"The Syria conflict has created a wave of human suffering that has rolled out across the region and now reached the shores of Europe. Syrians are fleeing barrel bombs, chemical weapons, rape and massacres. Their country has become a killing field."
