RIDING Develops Abilities Collie is seeking a fresh batch of volunteers to help out with running of the centre.
RDA state president Jo Williams said they are currently recruiting new volunteers for a variety of roles.
“We are holding an induction day to try and get new volunteers on board to help with the horses, clients, events, and other day to day tasks at the centre,” she said.
“Some people come for the love of horses, some people want to work with the riders, there are so many different jobs you can do as a volunteer.”
“Volunteers pick up skills along the way and gain confidence.”
“Please come down to the induction day if you are interested, it’s a nice atmosphere and a great facility to work in.”
RDA Collie volunteer Ben Hillbrick said he enjoys his role in the centre and handles a variety of jobs.
“It’s a good chance to get out and socialise and learn new skills at the same time,” he said.
RDAWA Centres across Australia offer a wide range of horse related activities and equestrian disciplines.
Activities include therapeutic, recreational and educational riding, vaulting, and walking with horses to name a few.
Volunteers do not need to know anything about horses as training is provided, and they can commit to as little as an hour a week.
The volunteer induction day will be held on Thursday February 11 from 9am to 2pm with lunch provided.
