THE Collie PCYC is seeking the original members or family members of the 1970 trampoline world record attempt.
The record was set at 460 hours of non-stop bouncing on a trampoline and the participants started bouncing on May 7, 1970, and concluded on May 26.
PCYC Manager Amanda Dow said they were trying to track down the original participants or their descendants to take part in an upcoming event planned for April.
“We will hold a twelve hour trampoline event and also have community displays and stalls set up at the centre,” she said.
“My main aim is trying to bridge the generational gap at the centre.”
“The WA Police have backed us with the event and we are really looking forward to making it happen.”
“It will be a good chance to showcase the centre and what we have on offer to the community.”
Mrs Dow said the trampoline at the centre has been left in a state of disrepair and they are in the process of repairing it.
“We received a $1000 grant from the Coal miner’s welfare board to help repair the trampoline, and we are seeking further funding to finish the repairs,” she said.
The original participants of the world record attempt were; Dianne Munro, Graham Williams, Ken Ingram, Leon Golding, Michael Stanley, Garry Allison, Mervyn Chapman, Wayne Jackson, Pam Tylor, Vicki Chapman, Wayne Jackson, Pam Tylor, Vicki Chapman, Cheryl Dye, Pauline Fitzpatrick, Robyn Munro, Joanne Dye, and Neville Dye.
Anyone who knows the participants or their relatives is encouraged to contact the centre.
