THE City of Mandurah is expected to address concerns over a potential blow-out in the cost of the Mandurah pedestrian bridge on Wednesday.
According to a source, the City has been in dispute with the construction contractors over the extra amount, which was incurred because of delays hampering bridge construction.
It is understood the dispute had been arbitrated under the contract and the amount had been awarded against the City.
A confidential item pertaining to the bridge was listed on Tuesday’s night’s Council agenda.
A spokesperson for the City said more information would be made available on Wednesday after the councillors had considered the item.
The pedestrian bridge had been budgeted to cost $6.026 million which was fixed under a guaranteed maximum price contract.
