Members of clubs, societies and community groups have been urged to attend a free information session on new rules for not-for-profit organisations.
The Department of Commerce and South West Development Commission are running sessions to inform the community about requirements for the Associations Incorporation Act 2015, coming into effect July 1.
The sessions will focus on the law’s effect on existing incorporated associations, changes to committee responsibilities, prescribed model rules and transition period processes.
The new law will require organisations to update their rules and introduce changes to financial reporting, governance, privacy, membership, dispute resolution, amalgamation and winding up.
Collie’s information session will take place at the Collie Council Chambers on Monday, June 13 at 4pm.
