THE Eagles League side went a long way to cementing their place in the race to play finals last week, when they defeated Donnybrook.
Kicking against the breeze in the first term Jayce Fontana hit the scoreboard early with other goals from Chappell and Mahar as the host side answered through Guglielmana and Clarkson to hold a five-point lead at the first break.
The defence held firm with Mat Michael and Matt Blackford answering all challenges.
The second term saw the Eagles playing some of the best team football they have produced all season, as they added six goals to one during this stanza.
The midfield led by Cleggett, Bignell, Florio and Davidson dominated the centre of the ground to keep up a constant supply to the forwards.
Blackford continued to keep Donnybrook champion Jeff Smith quiet to dry up their scoring opportunities.
The second half developed into an even struggle as the home team lifted after Jebb Swallow scored the first major in the term.
Guglielmana and Parry found space to score much needed goals. Michael and his support defenders were solid to hold a 26-point advantage going into the final term.
The last quarter saw Donnybrook close the scoreboard gap with goals from Page and Guglielmana before answers from Chappell, Blake Shanahan and Piavanini sealed the result as the Eagles ran out 33-point winners.
