IT has been a while since I have written a game report.
I haven't had to write one due to bye rounds and teams forfeiting against us.
This week is much the same, apart from what is on offer at the end of it.
Even though it was a semi final, Dunsborough were unable to field a team due to injuries and other extenuating circumstances meaning Collie progressed straight to the grand final.
It is a massive effort for the club in its first year back in the competition.
Now there is only one game to play to claim ultimate glory.
Margaret River are the hosts and should go into the game as favourites despite some close battles between the teams of late.
The last two games have gone right down to the wire and I'm sure this game will be no different.
Collie possesses a giant forward pack and play with a high intensity as opposed to Margaret River who play a structured, controlled style reliant on fitness.
Collie's backs are also quite big, able to break tackles and cause plenty of headaches where Margaret River have smaller, faster backs capable of running all day.
The grand final is scheduled to start at 3pm Saturday, August 20 at Gloucester park, Margaret River and I urge people to come down and lend their support to the Collie Mongrels in what should be a great day of rugby.
Mongrel up Collie!
