COLLIE’S most anticipated and exciting singing competition is set to go down to the wire this Saturday. The town’s best and brightest singers are going head to head at the Crown Hotel for the title of Collie Idol 2016.
Finalists from the previous five heats will compete in the grand final from 8.30pm on Saturday, August 27 for the $1000 grand prize.
The runners up will take home the $300 second prize and $200 third prize.
The event will include a gold coin donation at the door, with all proceeds going to the Collie Senior High School Anzac Tour Group 2017.
Crown Hotel owner Mark McCarthy said the annual competition was a great opportunity to display Collie’s wide array of talent and bring everyone together.
“It’s a great get-together for Collie, a good laugh, everyone knows everybody and it’s just about trying to have a good time in the community,” he said.
“It seems to be one of those events that every year, without fail, it gets the whole town out of the house.”
